It's a great time to be an artist! We are surrounded by an unprecedented wealth of images made immediate and interactive with our ubiquitous electronic devices. The challenge is how to bring these images into the studio and make them our own. Collage is an exciting and playful way to process the complexity of ideas and images which enliven our modern life. Collage can be an end in itself, or a process to explore ways of expressing intention. It’s about things you find, gather, collect, download, unearth, —precious bits because they are evidence of your life’s journey. In our retreats, we’ll use collage to explore ways of working and playing with systems of selecting, collecting, organizing, reflecting and presenting images and objects. |
